Teen found dead on Illovo beach

Jace Govender of Lifesaving South Africa said, "All indications point towards a possible drowning at this stage."

The body of missing 16-year-old Isipingo Beach resident and Isipingo Secondary School pupil, Benjamin Pillay was discovered on a beach in Illovo, on Monday night, 9 March.

It is believed that Benjamin went missing on Saturday at Isipingo Beach.

Jace Govender of Lifesaving South Africa said, “The search started on Sunday and yesterday at around 6pm we received information stating that a body was found at an Illovo beach. All indications point towards a possible drowning at this stage.”

The relevant authorities were on the scene and will investigate further.
