Murder suspect nabbed through CCPO network in Amanzimtoti

The two were positively identified, and crystal meth and compressed dagga were found in their possession.

A murder suspect and his friend were nabbed with drugs en route through Toti with the assistance from local armed response officers on Thursday, 20 February.

Tony Lokker of ET Rapid Response said they received the information at about 7.30am of the two suspects coming through Toti on the train to Port Shepstone from Umkomaas SAPS via the CCPO channel.

The drugs found on them.

“It was reported that one of the suspects was wanted for murder on a Johannesburg case and that they were in possession of narcotics. All role players were on the look-out at the various train stations, but without any luck.”
A couple hours later, an off-duty police officer from Amanzimtoti alerted the CCPO of two men hitchhiking on the N2 southbound.

“Our response vehicle arrived just as the suspects were picked up and travelling south. The vehicle was pulled over just before Winklespruit. The two were positively identified, and crystal meth and compressed dagga were found in their possession. Well done to all the ET, CCPO, Toti SAPS and Umkomaas SAPS members for this arrest. It shows the value of the CCPO network yet again.”
