CCPO puts dents in Amanzimtoti criminals’ plans

CCPO supervisor, Michael Mkhize assisted Toti SAPS to find the owner of a stolen ladder.

Monday, 17 February

The CCPO assisted Amanzimtoti SAPS crime prevention unit to arrested a suspect in possession of stolen goods in Umgababa. The stolen items recovered included a laptop, cellphone, tablet, external hard drive and two material bags that were stolen in a housebreaking in Illovo Beach.

Saturday, 15 February

A CCPO guard confronted a suspect carrying a suitcase in John Craven Place, Amanzimtoti. He dropped it and fled into some bushes. It contained a kettle, two plate electric hob and other items possibly stolen from the Arthur Howes or Devon Road area. It was handed in at Amanzimtoti SAPS.

Friday, 14 February

CCPO supervisor, Michael Mkhize assisted Toti SAPS to find the owner of a stolen ladder. “A SAPS friend of mine found a suspect in Gordon Road, Amanzimtoti carrying the ladder, but wasn’t happy with the explanation he gave. He contacted us to try help establish where the ladder came from. Michael found the address in Sycamore Road, Amanzimtoti. After finding out that he had had a housebreaking incident, the owner went to SAPS and opened a case, ensuring this suspect will be profiled, charged and detained.”

Wednesday, 12 February

A foot patrol guard recovered two chairs after a suspect dropped them in the Kissin Lane area and fled. CCPO, ET Rapid, Blue Security, SAPS and Metro k9 unit officers chased him into the township for about two hours before he managed to escape. The chairs were handed in at Toti SAPS.
