Armed robberies rock Amanzimtoti

It is suspected the three incidents could be the work of the same gang.

Toti was hit with three armed robberies earlier this week. An armed robbery took place at a business premises in Kingsway, Warner Beach on Tuesday afternoon, 14 January. Four suspects, armed with handguns, held staff up at gunpoint, and took about R9 000 cash and two cellphones and fled the scene.

On Monday, 13 January an armed robbery took place at a residence in School Road. A white Ford Bantam stopped outside the premises with six occupants. Four men jumped off the back of the vehicle and approached the gardener. Two of them were armed and they fled with a brush cutter.

Earlier that day, an armed robbery took place at a convenience store in Beach Road. Two men, one armed with a firearm, came into the store and demanded items from the shop owner. Money, cigarettes and a phone were taken and the suspects fled in an unknown direction. It is suspected the three incidents could be the work of the same gang.
