Sniper eye camera assists in arrest

Metro Police street crime prevention members responded swiftly and the alleged suspect was taken to SAPS Isipingo for detention and further investigation.

With the assistance of a sniper eye camera, members of PT Alarms successfully recovered a stolen vehicle and apprehended a suspect in Isipingo on Saturday, January 11.

Spokesperson of PT Alarms, Devan Govindsamy said, “Our control room picked up a vehicle that was sought for a Pinetown case through the aid of the PT Sniper Eye in the Sky camera. The PT Tactical and K9 units were immediately dispatched to Isipingo and within minutes the vehicle was recovered.”

One male, believed to be in his 30s, was apprehended.

“Metro Police street crime prevention members responded swiftly and the alleged suspect was taken to SAPS Isipingo for detention and further investigation. Well done to the PT members and Metro officers on the quick response and apprehension of the alleged suspect,” she added.
