Amanzimtoti MX rider is born to be Wild

Kellan is one of the many local riders who is appreciating all the hard work done by the various role-players to build the Galleria MX track.

He may be pint-sized, but six-year-old Kellan Wild will soon be kicking up the dirt on motocross tracks around the country.
He has been riding since he was five and a PW 50 is his first bike.

“My dad Graeme and his friend Chris brought a bike to the field one day and they made me just start riding. That weekend we had a fun day and I really loved it. My dad is teaching me how to ride properly and safely. Motocross is the best sport ever. I love the speed and learning how to get gooder (better). I want to start racing soon.”

Kellan is one of the many local riders who is appreciating all the hard work done by the various role-players to build the Galleria MX track. “It’s a hard track. I don’t like the deep sand, but I seem to be getting faster. I don’t get to ride at the track that much, because my dad has to work, but we go sometimes after school when my dad finishes work and when we go to the races.”

Kellan was born in Johannesburg. He has just finished his schooling at Tecoma Pre-Primary and will attend Warner Beach Prep next year. “I don’t play any other sports now, but I’m going to play sports when I’m in Grade 1. I’m going to play rugby, hockey and tennis. On hot days when I’m not at school or riding my bike, I go to the beach and swim with my bodyboard.

“I’m staying at home for the holidays and playing with my toys and I’m going to take my dog Harry for walks on the beach with my mom and brother. Oh and my Nana is coming to visit from Cape Town. I’m hoping Santa is going to bring me a remote control monster truck car that can jump for Christmas.”

Kellan shows his younger brother Nate how cool a motorbike is.
