Amanzimtoti cyclists ride for festive good

ACC will host a Christmas lights night ride on Friday, 13 December.

Amanzimtoti Cycle Club (ACC) banded together and hit the road for a good cause on Saturday, 30 November, to raise much-needed donations for Jona Vaughan Home, as well as for their annual open day that was held later that day.

Meeting at Toti Main beach, the Roadies took the longer route to Scottburgh and back, for a total of 65km, while the Mambas went to Umkomaas and back, a total of 45km.

“Once everyone was back we enjoyed a well-earned breakfast. Toiletries were donated by Giant Athlone Park and members of the cycling club, while other club members donated ice-cream for the open day. Victory SPAR in Warner Beach and Thirsty Whale donated hotdogs, which are always thoroughly enjoyed by the children, parents and staff at the home. Overall it was a successful morning for all,” said the club’s Marlene Elsip.

ACC will host a Christmas lights night ride on Friday, 13 December. Departing from the club house at 6pm, cyclists will ride around Toti and Kingsburgh and afterwards enjoy hot dogs. Refreshments will be on sale at the clubhouse, go and enjoy a lucky Friday the 13th ride or keep an eye out for the riders at your home.
