Quiet week for crime fighters in Amanzimtoti

A case was opened at Toti SAPS and the suspect detained.

The CCPO has had a relatively quiet two weeks.

Two suspects were apprehended and a stolen geyser recovered on Tuesday, 19 November, after the pair were spotted carrying it near Ipahla railway station by CCPO street patrol guards. “They were questioned and led CCPO supervisor Logan Naidoo and his crewman and two guards to Illovo Beach Road. The owner of the geyser was found and Toti SAPS are investigating,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey.

Monday, 18 November

A thief who stole a stainless braai from a Dan Pienaar Drive property in Amanzimtoti was nabbed by Logan and his crewman, and the braai recovered. A case was opened at Toti SAPS and the suspect detained.

Wednesday, 13 November

A TV stolen during a housebreaking in Acutt Road in Amanzimtoti was recovered by CCPO supervisor Michael Mkhize and his crewman after they received information about the suspect trying to sell it. Toti SAPS crime prevention responded and, assisted by the CCPO, the TV was recovered.
