Entrepreneurs market products

Learners from a few different schools in the area come together to participate in the programme.

Grade 10 and 11 learners from Amanzimtoti High School are participating in the achievement South Africa (JA South Africa) entrepreneurship academy programme funded by Afripack Pty Ltd and gaining the much needed entrepreneurship and life skills to help prepare them for economic success.

Learners from a few different schools in the area come together to participate in the programme. They get split into two teams and form two companies. Learners select a management team and buy shares in the company.

The learners have to choose a product and do market research, followed by production planning. They are then taught how to setup and run the companies. Once the products are produced, the learners then sell their products and after the 20 week programme the companies are liquidated.

The engagement will provide and create opportunities for the young people to act on and transform their potential into power.

It will also serve the young people well in respect of career mapping and networking skills development. On a social level, young people from all socio-economic and cultural sectors will have the opportunity of integrating and sharing this communication platform; to engage in serious dialogue and debate issues of vital importance and relevance to them.
