Municipal officials remove illegally dumped items

Municipal officials started removing the illegally dumped items on Monday, 11 November. 

The environmental hazard, caused by the rubbish and non-biodegradable litter piled along the banks of the Isipingo River near the Amanzimtoti SPCA, was fortunately cleaned-up, recently.

Municipal officials began using equipment to remove the illegally dumped items on Monday, 11 November.

EThekwini Municipality’s acting head of communications, Mandla Nsele said, “Officials from Cleansing and Solid Waste visited the site.  They removed waste such as discarded diapers. However, the larger items, including garden refuse, that has been illegally dumped, requires an excavator to be removed.”
