Safety tips: Don’t become a carjacking victim

Motorists are urged to be vigilant and aware of the dangers when travelling to and from their homes as well as visiting areas they don’t usually frequent.

Members of Amanzimtoti SAPS have noted an increase in carjackings not only in the Toti precinct but the greater Durban and neighbouring stations.

Communications officer of Amanzimtoti SAPS, Cpt Charlene Van der Spuy said, “We urge our community to be more vigilant and remain aware of the dangers when travelling to and from their homes as well as visiting areas they don’t usually frequent.”

In light of this, Cpt Van der Spuy issued safety tips to prevent drivers from becoming victims of carjackings.
