Toti junior swimmers swam to victory

The club walked away victorious with a total of 14 gold, five silver and two bronze medals.

On Saturday, 19 October, seven swimmers from Titans Swimming Club participated at the BOA (Blue Oceans Aquatics) gala in Port Shepstone.

This gala is open to all club swimmers up to level two.

The club walked away victorious with a total of 14 gold, five silver and two bronze medals, as well as three age group trophies. Shaun Butler, 12, won five gold medals for the 50m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and the 100m IM.

He also won a trophy for winning his age group with the most points and set a new record time for the 50m breaststroke.

MD van Tonder, 10, won three gold medals for the 25m freestyle and butterfly and the 100m IM and two silver medals for the 25m breaststroke and backstroke. MD also won a trophy for winning his age group with the most points.

Demar van Tonder, 9, won three gold medals for the 25m breaststroke and butterfly and the 100m IM, and two silver medals for the 25m freestyle and backstroke.

Demar also won a trophy for winning his age group with the most points.

Ilze Hendriks, 10, won a gold medal for the 25m backstroke and two bronze medals for the 25m breaststroke and butterfly. Melande Badenhorst, 8, won two gold medals for the 25m freestyle and breaststroke and a silver medal for the 25m butterfly.

Bastian Prinsloo, 8, had a tough age group and gave it his best in his second gala representing Titans.

Josh Worthman, 10, also had a very tough age group to race in.

This was his first gala representing his club and he showed he has some good swimming talent.
