Toti BC’s teams through to next round of novice pairs

Birthday greetings this week go to Martin Young, Doreen Salmond, Dion Audie and Danie Els.

The women’s novice teams from Amanzimtoti Bowling Club (ABC) made a good start when three of the four teams went through to the next round of the Berea novice women’s pairs last weekend.

They are Karen Glover and Jaylene Fagan, Toni Roberts and Jenny Rautenbach and Dani Cardoso and Dawn Schauer who won two games. The verandah was entertained by some good bowls when ABC hosted the Port Natal women’s and men’s open and veterans singles last Sunday, 20 October. Congratulations to Toti’s Jeanne Alexander, who won bronze.

Members enjoyed the fury mixed 4’s last Saturday, 19 October, with music on the green and spot prizes won by Les Brown, Dave Gardner, Jacqui Fouché and Adie Fuller.

The competition was won by Eric Klopper, Doreen Salmond, Dennis Hughes and Dallas Davis. Runners-up were Peter Callaghan, Clive Frank, Shayne Tocher and Denise Bingham.

The second session prize went to Vince Marriott, Mike Roberts, Andrew Pearce and Leigh Callaghan.

In the KwikSpar women’s trips the winners were Julie Sutherland, Marie van der Walt and Cathy Badenhorst. Jeanne Alexander, Tokkie de Kock and Jane Coetzee were runners-up and Joan van Rensburg, Avril Smith and Toni Roberts were second session winners, while Nicky Stirzaker won the 100 board.

The winners of the men’s 2-4-2 were Dallas Davis and Terry Morgan. Runners-up were Willem Pelser and Ben Venter and the second session was won by Steve Evenwel and Dries Snyman.

At TGIF the 100 board was won by Gladys Hughes. Dawn Schauer was not present to receive the attendance draw, so the pot rolls over to R300 next week. Eric Gardner’s name came out in the key draw, but sadly he didn’t find the right key. The jackpot will therefore go to R6 780 next time. Birthday greetings this week go to Martin Young, Doreen Salmond, Dion Audie and Danie Els.
