Help raise funds at family fun day

The organisation requires 50 goodie bags and prizes for its raffles and tombola.

To celebrate International Children’s Day, Indwe Africa invites everyone to join in for a family fun-filled day, where children become the centre of the Toti community. Indwe Africa is an NPO with the aim of nurturing and educating children, and it hosts a family fun run and walk at Amanzimtoti Sports Centre on Saturday, 2 November from 10am to 3pm. All proceeds go to the NPO.

“It is all about the children. Our mission is to transform communities through the education and empowerment of young children. We need to show society that all children matter,” said Indwe Africa founder, Iris Canham. “This is a fundraising event, so invite all your friends, family and neighbours. It is going to be a fun day for the whole family, with lots of activities planned for the young and not so young during the day and music by DJ Fluffy.

“Let us walk or run for our children and play field games, with some extra fun activities, such as raffles, tombola, a scavenger hunt and sack races. Thanks to Cyclesphere Cycling in Florida Road for donating an Avalanche Max 20-inch bicycle, valued at R3 000, for either a boy or a girl, as a raffle prize,” said Iris.

Creativity is as important as academics, so there is an art competition, with the theme ‘free to be a child’, that is open to all budding young artists. Age categories are 6-8; 9-12; and 13-15.
