Vehicle thieves bust by alert crime fighters

The stolen vehicle and another were recovered in Isipingo.

Response officers nabbed three vehicle thieves and recovered two stolen vehicles after they returned to Toti to steal another on Sunday, Sunday, 13 October.

ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member, Tony Lokker, said a Ford Tracer was stolen in Warner Beach the day before. “Investigations pointed to a blue VW Jetta with a NUZ registration as the suspects’ vehicle. On Sunday we received information that the same Jetta was in the Toti area.”

Tony was joined by CCPO committee member, George Snodey, and they kept observation after locating the suspects.
Roedolf Colyn, WO Martin Booyens and Sgt Jaffel van den Berg of Toti SAPS also came to assist, even while off-duty.
The suspects were observed trying to steal a Kia Picanto on Beach Road. During their attempted arrest, a high speed chase ensued on Kingsway, but they were apprehended.

Car-breaking implements were found in their possession as well as suspected stolen property. After interviewing them, two vehicles were pointed out where they had stolen items from.
