Toti BC’s Ian pushes through to PN men vet’s singles

Remember the monthly quiz takes place at 6.30pm for 7pm on Wednesday, 16 October

Amanzimtoti Bowling Club (ABC) congratulates Ian Crouch who reached the quarter finals of the Port Natal men’s veteran singles in three close matches, and going right to the last game.

He lost his fourth and quarter final match by only two shots. Andy McDonald also reached the quarters in the PN men’s open singles. Good bowling to the club’s nine women who will play in the PN singles starting on Saturday, 12 October. Note ABC will host some of these games so come along and support.

Congratulations to Doreen Salmond and Jane Coetzee, who have been selected to play in the veteran’s side, and to Jeanne Alexander who will play in the B side in the 2020 inter-districts. The winners of the John Dory women’s 2-4-2 were Marion Crouch and Nicky Stirzaker, runners-up were Jeannette Els and Sue Welch, and the second session was won by Lulu and Denise Bingham. Sue Welch won the 100 board.

Eric Klopper, Terry Morgan and Martin Birch won the men’s trips, in second place were Pete Shepard, Ian Shearer and Tony Cam, and the second session went to Brad Cox, Vish Studinski and Fred Welch. At TGIF John Hewgill won the 100 board. The members draw was not won as Vish Studinski was not at the club, next week’s draw will be worth R200. Jackie Holdrick did not choose the correct key, next week’s key will be worth R6 020.

Remember the monthly quiz takes place at 6.30pm for 7pm on Wednesday, 16 October, and all are welcome to attend. Birthday greetings are sent this week to Tony Cam, William Sithole, Chrissie Ashton and Vince Marriott.
