Suspects in municipal worker’s Warner Beach assault, released on bail
It is believed that the two men went into the change room and began taking pictures of the man.
Two suspects, aged 21 and 84, were released on bail in Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court after allegedly physically assaulting a municipal worker, on Saturday, 26 September.
They face charges after a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm was opened at Amanzimtoti police station.

Communications officer of Amanzimtoti SAPS, Captain Charlene van der Spuy said, “The suspects had allegedly physically assaulted a 41-year-old municipal worker at Warner Beach. The case was remanded to 11 November for trial.”
It is believed that the two men went into the change room and began taking pictures of the man while he was changing and an argument broke out before the men went back to their car to fetch a stick and beat him.
EThekwini Municipality spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela, said, “The city is aware of the incident in which a municipal employee was assaulted. The two men were arrested by our law enforcement officers and taken to SAPS, where they were charged for assault. The employee was admitted to hospital where his received treatment and we are monitoring his status.”
