Outdoor activities lined up in diary dates

Fancy the outdoors? Join a group of BirdLife Port Natal members as they venture into the Tanglewood Farm Nature Reserve and learn more about nature at the Krantzkloof Interpretive Centre.

SATURDAY, 5 OCTOBER: Toti Presbyterian Church hosts a fun filled afternoon of Bingo at 2pm. The cost is R2 per card (game). There are prizes to be won and refreshments will be on sale.

BirdLife Port Natal hosts an outing to Tanglewood Farm Nature Reserve, Pinetown at 6am. This is a hidden treasure consisting of grasslands, forests and wetlands. Bring chairs and picnic for afterwards. For further information, contact Terry Walls on 082-871-6260.

Kingsburgh Lions flea market is held at St Mary’s Church, 257 Kingsway, Warner Beach from 7am to 10am. Come and browse through the household and clothing bargains. Delicious curry mince vetkoek, pancakes and refreshments will be on sale. To book a stall, contact 072-761-1610 or 082-954-7441.

TUESDAY, 8 OCTOBER: BirdLife Port Natal hosts an indoor meeting at Krantzkloof Interpretive Cente, Kloof at 9.30am. Ben Hoffman from Raptor Rescue on Bearded Vultures will present an interesting talk.

WEDNESDAY, 9 OCTOBER: BirdLife Port Natal hosts an indoor meeting at Westville Methodist Church at 7pm. Dr Marlies CrIagon will present an interesting talk on insects, their demise and what this means for birds. For more information, contact Virginia Cameron on 074-580-3341.
