Informative talk held by Dr Jennifer Olbers

The talk outlined plastic pollution which is one of the biggest threats to the natural world.

An informative and interesting talk was held at the Crocworld Conservation Centre on ‘Marine Stranded Animals in KZN’. The talk was conducted by Dr Jennifer Olbers, a Marine Ecologist with Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, Scientific Services on Saturday, 14 September.

The talk outlined plastic pollution which is one of the biggest threats to the natural world and the detrimental effects being felt by marine animals. The history of strandings along KwaZulu-Natal and how the animals are managed were also highlighted.

The attendees were informed on the importance of these topics and they were also advised on how members of the public can assist if they find an animal in difficulty on the beach.
