Winkle BC’s tabs in trips changed

Bowlers should note that the Winkle Bowling Club’s mixed tabs in trips has been changed to a nominated 2-4-2 competition on Saturday, 14 September.

The list is up on the board for you to enter your team should you wish to play. There are still a few games that need to be played in the mixed pairs and mixed 2-4-2 club competitions to get to the semi-finals.

Finals must be played by Friday, 27 September, so members should check the board and ensure all games are played as soon as possible. Should you have a problem, call Lou Bingham.

In the men’s nominated trips semi-final, Mike Kruger, Andre Gelderblom and Brian Hollis defeated Brian Farmer, Eddie Bingham and Rob Stewart. In the mixed nominated 2-4-2, Annalie Pienaar and Dries Snyman overcame Alan Raubenheimer and Lou Bingham.

Basil and Sylveigh Ananiadis overcame Bill and Linda Hobbs and in the mixed nominated pairs, Freddy Hetterscheidt and Sandy Snyman beat Eddie Bingham and Maureen Warrior. Estelle van der Merwe and Piet du Toit defeated Rob Stewart and Sheila Court.

The club will be open on Saturday, 21 September, to watch the rugby match between South Africa and New Zealand, starting at 11.45am.

A fire will be lit for those who wish to braai, bring your meat. The bar will also be open. RSVP to Norma Raath if you wish to attend.

Social bowls is on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm. The club thanks Hannie Nel and Trish Farmer for the delicious lasagna and pudding enjoyed on Friday evening, 6 September.

The attendance draw was won by Les John, but as he was not present there is a carry-over.

Curry and rice is on the menu for Friday evening, 13 September’s meal. Should you wish to attend, put your name on the board or contact Trish Farmer.
