Enjoy a twilight stroll along our golden beach in the company of local community members. Bring your dog along on a lead. The next full moon beach walk takes place of Saturday, 14 September at 6pm. Walk from Baggies to Winklespruit Beach and back again. The full moon beach walk takes place every second Saturday of the month. There won’t be a braai this month as the ski boat club is occupied with another event. All are welcome to join in.

THURSDAY, 12 SEPTEMBER: Khanya Hospice’s 34th annual AGM takes place at 7 Winder Street, Umkomaas at 5pm for 5.30pm. This promises not to be a long meeting and all are welcome. Refreshments will be served. RSVP to Neil McDonald on 083-597-8985.

SUNDAY, 15 SEPTEMBER: BirdLife Port Natal has an outing to Sappi Mbozambo (Stanger) Bird Hide at 6.30am. They will spend time in the hide and then stroll around the dam. Bring your ID and a picnic. For more information, call Rex Aspeling on 082 301 8177.

SUNDAY, 15 SEPTEMBER: Join in Pick n Pay’s charity fun run in support of The Sunflower Fund at Suncoast from 9.30am. Entry fee of R70 includes a sunflower tope. There will be an exciting raffle, prize giveaways and live entertainment. For further information, call The Sunflower Fund office on 031-266-1148.

MONDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER: Amanzimtoti Child and Family Welfare Society’s AGM takes place at the corner of Adams (Khotho Mkhunya) Road and Lewis Drive from 9.30am for 10am. The guest speaker is Razyia Docrat, a civil practitioner at Legal Aid. Refreshments will be served afterwards. MONDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER: The next SAARP meeting takes place on Monday, 16 September, and not 9 September (since the bowling club is booked for another function) from 9.30am to about 11.30am at Toti Bowling Club. Safe parking in the grounds. All visitors and new members from 50 years old are welcome. R5 entrance fee payable at the door. Guest speakers are John and Sheila Court who will share some of their experiences with a slide show of their lives in Nigeria. WEDNESDAY, 18 SEPTEMBER: BirdLife Port Natal hosts an outing to Westville Eco-Trail at 6.30am. This is your chance to see all three mannikins in a small indigenous area in suburbia. Bring a picnic. For more information, call Jane Morris on 082-442-2982.

WEDNESDAY, 25 SEPTEMBER: It’s ‘hats on for Spring’ at 21 Club’s September luncheon held at Lords and Legends conference room at noon for 12.30pm. The décor is simply colourful. Guest speaker, Karen Tocknell will speak about ‘new beginnings’. Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee members by Friday, 18 September. Guests who must be invited by a member, will be accommodated if there is space.
