Entries open for Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon

The marathon is an early qualifier for both the Comrades Marathon 2020 and the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon 2020.

Entries are now open for the Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon.  The prominent marathon is set to take place on Sunday, 27 October with the starting time set for 5.30am for all three race categories 10km, 21.1km and 42km.

The marathon is an early qualifier for both the Comrades Marathon 2020 and the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon 2020. Participants can collect their race packs at Hutchinson Park, Amanzimtoti on Saturday, 26 October from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, 27 October from 3.30am to 4.40am.

All participants who complete the Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon will receive medals at the finish. The race will be followed by a prize-giving ceremony which starts at 9.30am.

On race day, there will be parking available at the Civic Centre with buses running from Civic Lane to the three separate starting points.

Sapphire Coast Tourism chairman, Romy Wenzel, will be participating in this year’s 21.1km event. She described the race as a ‘well organised event and a calendar highlight for so many participants’, and said “I am so looking forward to representing Sapphire Coast Tourism in this magnificent race. In addition to the marathon itself, this is a great opportunity for visitors to experience the amazing activities and sightseeing opportunities on the KwaZulu-Natal Upper South Coast! We are very excited to welcome new and returning participants to this gem on the KwaZulu-Natal Coast for what is sure to be a fantastic race and sightseeing experience!”

Early entries for this year’s Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon can be made online at  webtickets.co.za or at any Pick ‘n Pay until Sunday, 15 September. All early-bird entrants will receive a free Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon shirt.
