CCPO does more than fight crime

"We don’t just fight crime, we help where we can" - CCPO.

The CCPO once again proved it does not just fight crime.

On Wednesday, 14 August a man was spotted walking past Winkle Beach, along the shoreline and heading south. He had a large backpack on and was walking at a brisk pace, so he was stopped and searched at the end of Camp Road to ensure he wasn’t carrying any stolen property.

“He had some personal belongings in there, including some girls clothing. He was walking to Scottburgh Hospital to fetch his daughter, because the trains weren’t running between Toti and Winkle and he didn’t have money for a taxi, said committee member,” George Snodey.

The man was given a lift back to Winkle station and given taxi fare. “We don’t just fight crime, we help where we can.”
