UGC’s greens remain in good nick

#TheFriendliestClub always welcomes visitors.

The course remains in great nick and despite the windy conditions on Saturday, 10 August, competitors enjoyed their games and cannot fault the condition of the course.
After a successful club champs last weekend, the men took each other on in the match play competition with semi-finals kicking off next weekend.

Divisional finals as follows: C division final play-off: Dave Robertson vs Rory Bernadis; B division semi-final play-off: Chris Pillay vs Kavesh Seepersad and Nelson Moonsamy vs Barrie Taylor; A division semi-final play-off: ‘Big Joe’ vs Viv Naicker, and Greg Theil vs Tash Naicker. Only time will tell if we see father versus son in the A division final, the new chapter after many years of sibling rivalry.

In Saturday’s tough conditions, Alan Eriksen finished on par with 36 points. Runners-up were determined on count-out as three players finished their rounds with 33 points each. Sabiha Bacaus reigned, followed by ever-consistent Dave Kemp and Tom Naicker.

Devlyn Fraser and Damien O’Connell managed to win in the accuracy competition, each winning their share for their two-clubs on Saturday. The wind seemed to have wreaked havoc with the jackpot holes with no-one managing to accumulate the prerequisite 10 points on the randomly selected four holes.

Viv Naicker counted out Nelson Moonsamy on Wednesday, 7 August, on 37 points for the IPS competition, with recent retiree and newly elected captain, Graham Coxell finishing third on 33 points.
