Six arrested during drug raid

One of the arrested suspects was found in possession of 110 heroin capsules.

After being identified as one of the drug hotspots, police officers from the eThekwini Outer South Cluster conducted a raid in Amanzimtoti and arrested six suspects for being in possession of drugs in various areas.

Police officers also conducted operations targeting drug dealers at Umlazi and Folweni.  Provincial police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said one of the arrested suspects was found in possession of 110 heroin capsules.  “Cash suspected to be the proceeds of drug trade was also seized. All the arrested suspects will appear in the Umbumbulu Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges for possession of drugs,” Zwane said.

Police will continue operations in the area in an attempt to rid drug related activity.
