Speaking on behalf of his bereaved loved ones, Jace Govender said that while the family is still finding it difficult to come to terms with the incident, the only comfort they have is knowing that the pair left the world together.

“My aunt and uncle were inseparable.  They did everything together, they would even wear matching clothes.   They were good natured people, who would never hurt anyone. They would feed all different types of animals and was extremely caring. For someone to take advantage of their good nature is truly unacceptable and cannot be condoned,” said Jace.

The pair was married for 56 years and had four daughters.
