Bowlers eager to compete in Outsurance tourney

The mixed nominated trips Outsurance tournament will be held on Friday, 26 July, at Winkle Bowling Club at 8.30am for 9am.

The list is up on the board, contact Brian Farmer if you have any queries. The monthly mixed trips takes place on Saturday, 27 July, at 8.30am for 9am, there will be a braai after the game. The list is up on the board, members to ensure your teams are available, contact Lou Bingham. The women’s Kwik Spar trips takes place on Thursday, 1 August at 8.30am for 9am, contact Lou Bingham.

Club competition results:

In the women’s nominated 2-4-2 finals played on Tuesday, 16 July, winners were Lou Bingham and Elmarie Young who defeated Margaret van Belkum and Linda Hobbs and in the nominated mixed pairs played on Wednesday, 17 July, Annalie Pienaar and Dries Snyman beat Bill Hobbs and Linda Hobbs. In the men’s semi finals nominated 2-4-2 played on Friday, 19 July, Eric Morsner and Paul Hendley overcame John Scott and Tony Fitzsimmons and in the men’s nominated trips also played on Friday, 19 July; Brian Farmer, Eddie Bingham and Rob Stewart defeated Jeff van Belkum, Barry Hilton and Barrie de Wee. In the mixed nominated pairs played on Saturday, 20 July, Alan Ruabenheimer and Lou Bingham overcame André Gelderblom and Norma Raath; Brian Farmer and Elmarie Young beat Elaine Critchlow and Kokkie de Kock.

In the men’s nominated trips played on Saturday, 20 July, Ivan van den Bergh, Eric Morsner and Paul Hendley defeated Freddy Hetterscheidt, Adrian Morrison and Gert Richter. Members are reminded to pay their competition fees prior to playing competition games, see Norma Raath for any queries.

Social bowls was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by the bowlers with the greens full. A big thank you goes to Trish Farmer, Margaret van Belkum and Sheila Court for the delicious meal on Friday evening, 19 July, and to Ellie Cox and Wilma Richter who assisted in serving the meal. The attendance draw was won by Norma Raath. Social bowls are on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm. There will not be a meal on Friday, 26 July, due to the Outsurance tournament being held on that day.

The club wishes all those with birthdays in July a blessed year ahead.
