Airport delays imminent [LETTER]

My most recent experience with the airport was a bit of a stressful one.

EDITOR – Every 10 weeks I fly and I have my preferred airline which I highly recommend to anyone.

My most recent experience with the airport was a bit of a stressful one. As suggested by airlines, I arrived at the airport almost two hours before my flight and straight away checked in my luggage. I went through the boarding gates 40 minutes before my flight as I had priority boarding with my airline and wanted to get comfortable before take off.

It was the Saturday after schools had closed for the holidays and the airport was busy. Only two points were open for checking hand luggage and the queues were very long. Hence, by the time I got to the boarding gate to board the plane, they had already announced the final boarding call.

Being the kind-hearted person that I am, I told the staff at the airline that the queues are long and to  please be a little patient waiting for the passengers. This did result in us leaving 10 minutes later, but having mother nature on our side during flight time, we arrived on time at our destination.

What irks me though, is the staff at the boarding gate commented among themselves about the number of passengers, but not one suggested or made an effort to request a third scanner be opened.
