Letter to the editor: Help make Amanzimtoti safe again

If we as visitors to the area can notice all this going on, surely SAPS can too?

EDITOR

I am someone who loves to visit Amanzimtoti for holidays or weekend breaks. It is, however, not a safe place anymore.

Throughout the night, in Beach Road especially, has become too dangerous to walk around. There are displaced people begging for cash, prostitutes being picked up and dropped off, all due to a poor police presence. There are also people who sleep in the bushes on the beach. If one pays attention, drug deals are being done right in front of our eyes.

If we as visitors to the area can notice all this going on, surely SAPS can too?

All this does have an impact on businesses and is a concern, even for holidaymakers, so I can only imagine how Amanzimtoti residents must feel.

SAPS and other role players, please take action and help make Amanzimtoti safe again.
