Young singer impresses 21 Club

The next luncheon will be held on Wednesday, 24 July, confirmation to attend or not must be received by Friday, 19 July.

Black and white with a touch of red were the décor colours for the June luncheon of the 21 Club and members looked stunning in their outfits for the ‘heartstrings’ themed meeting.

The tables featured wine bottles dressed in waistcoats, topped by candles and surrounded by sparkling red hearts and stars. Young singer, Toti born and bred Cameron Hood, charmed the audience with mainly romantic music. But as soon as he turned up the beat, Christine Jankovitz and Susie van Tonder, took to the floor like ballroom professionals impressing everyone with their smooth moves.

Cameron found his love for music as a learner at Athlone Park Primary School in the arts and culture classes. He went on to Amanzimtoti High School where he took the lead role in the musical, Les Miserables in 2016. He is currently studying, but is really keen to further his musical experience with the view to a possible future career. He has the fond support of the 21 Club in his endeavours.

It was great to have his grandmother, Colleen Whittington, as a special guest. The next luncheon will be held on Wednesday, 24 July, at the Lords and Legends conference room at noon for 12.30pm to celebrate Christmas in July. Members will decorate their own tables using silver, gold and purple. The guest speaker is the much loved, Peter Butterworth. Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee members by Friday, 19 July. Guests will be accommodated if there is space. Members are reminded to bring a grocery item for Lions Club and to support the Christmas jewellery project if possible.
