Donation to Amanzimtoti pharmacy blows the whistle on crime

With exponentially-increasing crime rates, this serves as an effective yet simple way to see attention drawn to a situation that may otherwise have not received help in time.

WHISTLES donated to a local pharmacy will see some elderly and women of the area equipped with a mechanism to draw attention to either themselves if in danger and in need of help, or are witnessing someone in distress.

With exponentially-increasing crime rates, this serves as an effective yet simple way to see attention drawn to a situation that may otherwise have not received help in time.

The whistles, which were initially intended for the Comrades Marathon, were donated by iNova employee Nicole King to the Aquarius Pharmacy in Beach Road, Amanzimtoti on Monday, 10 June.

Aware of the many elderly and women that frequent the area, often on foot as they make their way from home to the stores nearby, employees of the store decided that the whistles should be handed as a safety alert mechanism.
