SATURDAY, 22 JUNE: SameLove Toti will hold its monthly meeting for lesbians, gays, transgender and intersex people at the TrainYouCan training venue, 277 Avondale Road, Morningside from 11am to 1pm. Transport from Toti will be provided. This is a safe space for everyone to find resources, peer support and to connect with others. Families and parents of LGBTI youth are welcome to join. TUESDAY, 25 JUNE: Indwe Africa hosts a workshop for educators and parents who would love to help children become better readers and enjoy reading. An interactive session with a mission to transform communities through the education and empowerment of young children will take place at Amanzimtoti Sports Centre hall (Lords and Legends) at 9am for 9.30am. There is no charge, but bring along a story book to help establish a literacy club and a plate of eats to share. Booking is essential as seats are limited. WEDNESDAY, 26 JUNE: 21 Club will host local talented young singer, Cameron Hood at its ‘heartstrings’ luncheon at Lords and Legends conference room at noon for 12.30pm. The décor colours are black and white with a touch of red. Confirmation to attend or not must be received by the relevant committee member by Friday, 21 June. Guests, who must be invited by a member, will be accommodated if there is space. Remember to bring a grocery item for Lions Club.

WEDNESDAY, 26 JUNE AND THURSDAY, 27 JUNE: eThekwini hosts a environmental education holiday programme themed climate change and mitigating measures at the Amanzimtoti Bird Sanctuary from 9am. Entry is free, RSVP to Nonkululeko Shembe on 031-311-6717 or Zodwa Msweli on 031-912-1178 or 074-660-8575. Children aged between five to 17 attending are requested to wear takkies, floppy hats and bring bottles of water and empty containers to plant in.

THURSDAY, 27 JUNE: The Pensioners Friend invites all pensioners to a special lunch at Circus Circus Galleria at 12.30pm. Enjoy a freshly prepared full roast beef lunch with malva pudding and custard for the amazing price of R79 and a chance to win a lovely hamper. SATURDAY, 29 JUNE: Sodurba hosts the 2019 Welcoming of the Whales Festival at Foreshore Drive, Bluff from 9am to 4pm. This is a fun event for the whole family with free entry.

SUNDAY, 30 JUNE: Clansthal Conservancy craft market at 111 Pig and Whistle Drive from 9am until 2pm. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing Sunday in a beautiful garden. For more information, call Liz Cunningham on 083-556-8108 or email lizc@scottburgh.co.za.
