Bowling trio dominate Clear Water Spur trips

Social bowls is on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm.

Social bowls on Wednesday, 5 June and Friday, 7 June was well supported and enjoyed by all at Winkle Bowling Club.

The club thanks Trish Farmer, Wilma Richter and Margaret van Belkum for the delicious meal and Shirley de Wee and Norma-Jean Ronald for the pudding. The 100 board was won by Rob Troughton, but as he was not present and there is a carry over.

Social bowls is on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm. There will be a meal on Friday evening, 14 June, put your name on the board or contact Trish Farmer. In the women’s Kwik Spar Winkle trips played on Thursday, 6 June, the overall winners were Julie Sutherland, Marie van der Walt and Amanda Ninow. Second session went to Tokkie de Kock, Cathy Badenhorst and Kathy Sharp. The first session was won by Elaine Chritchlow, Norma Raath and Margaret van Belkum. The 100 board was won by Denise Bingham and the mystery prize was won by Tokkie de Kock.

Winners of the Clear Water Spur trips played on Saturday, 8 June, were Eddie Bingham, Bill Hobbs and Sandy Snyman. Second session went to Brian Farmer, Jimmy Ronald and Sheila Court. The 100 board was won by André Gelderblom. Congratulations to Shirley de Wee and Margaret van Belkum who defeated Lou Bingham and Sylveigh Ananiadis in the 2-4-2 club competitions final.

The greens are open on Saturday, 15 June to play men and women’s pairs and 2-4-2 semi finals and finals. The men and women’s inter club league games will be played on Saturday, 22 June, the women will play Amanzimtoti C at Durban Collegians. The men’s fifth division will play Stella Park and the sixth division will play at home against Lahee Park. The men’s 2-4-2 takes place on Thursday, 27 June. Winkle monthly mixed trips will be played on Saturday, 29 June with a braai after the game. All morning games starting time is 8.30am for 9am.

The club wishes all those with birthdays in the month of June a blessed year ahead.
