#SardineRun2019: Sharks board denounces rumours about sard-action in local waters

"We have been crippled with rumours the whole weekend," - KZN Sharks Board's Greg Thompson.

DESPITE rumours about sardine spottings and nettings, the KZN Sharksboard has yet to receive word of sardine activity in KZN waters.

Check out the initial report on the silver buggers: [#SardineRun2019] The silver shoals are KZN bound

“We have been crippled with rumours the whole weekend,” said KZN Sharks Board acting HOD of operations, Greg Thompson. “I don’t know of any sightings or nettings which have taken place in KZN this weekend. The weather wasn’t very favourable for spotting in general, so we haven’t heard much from the Eastern Cape. The dive boats started at Port St Johns yesterday (Monday, 10 June) so hopefully I will be getting more feedback.”

KZN Sharks Board received calls from very excited residents insisting that the dark patches over the ocean were shoals. Unfortunately, these turned out to be shadows of clouds moving at a rapid speed due to the strong winds experienced over the weekend.

According to the previous reports, locals can expect the sardines to make an appearance in KZN waters in a couple weeks.
