Wily robber hides inside Isipingo store

Business owners are urged to ensure that they have adequate security measures at their business premises.

Business owners are urged to a sweep of their business premises before locking up for the day and ensure their alarm is activated. This warning from Alpha Alarms comes after an Isipingo CBD business owner closed up for the day on Monday, 3 June, not knowing a wily robber had hidden inside. “A guard at the building called our control room for assistance after he noticed movement inside the store,” said Alpha Alarms communications officer, Krishnee Naidoo.

Units were dispatched, but the suspect has already made his escape. After investigation, members discovered that he had been hiding in the shop and when the owner closed up helped himself to cash, cigarettes and alcohol. Some cigarettes and alcohol were recovered near the open window through which he escaped.

“Business owners are urged to ensure that they have adequate security measures at their business premises. It is important that your alarm system is armed upon closing and a check of the premises is done to ensure that there are no hideaways in your property,” said Naidoo.
