Kamalinee math boffins shine at child welfare maths challenge

Kamalinee school placed second overall, losing first place by just one point.

Four Kamalinee Primary School learners between grade 6 and 7 recently participated in the maths challenge at the Child Welfare Expo in Chatsworth where the school placed second overall, losing first place by just one point.

Khadija Thayab and Treve Naidoo (grade 6) and Nattalia Pillay and Markus Govender (grade 7) gave an excellent account of themselves and did their school proud. In a special message from Umlazi mathematics subject advisor, Richard Mvuyani, the learners and the school’s mathematics department were commended.

“I am extremely proud of your leadership and the dedication of your entire staff in uplifting the standard of mathematics for our country,” said Mvuyani.
