Support CSP’s beach clean up initiative

Clean Surf Project has 400 Nedbank Cup final tickets, T-shirts and goodie bags to give away at the clean up.

Clean Surf Project (CSP) is back at Twini Beach on Wednesday, 15 May for yet another clean-up from 8am to 12pm.

“Teaming up with beach cleaning staff, parks department and volunteers, we had a busy morning on Saturday, 11 May, cutting up logs, raking and filling one-ton bags with endless amount of plastic bottles,” said CSP’s Romy Wenzel. “A total of 1.2 tons of plastic bottles have already been collected by Wildlands Recycling, with much more to follow.

“Sadly, there is still so much more work to be done and the riverbank is in a terrible state of affairs.

“A massive thank you to beach management, Jace Govender, all council workers and community members who participated. Hopefully more will come out to help us tomorrow (Wednesday), as we have been sponsored 400 Nedbank Cup final tickets, T-shirts and goodie bags, which we will be giving away,” added Wenzel.
