AS the air gets cooler and the days shorter, those taking part in winter sports are putting in their hours on the field in an effort to prepare for the season underway.

The SUN attended a Future Footballers training session, which took place from Athlone Park Primary School’s grounds, on Saturday morning, 13 April.

The eager youngsters are readily preparing for upcoming matches and fine-tuning their skills with the soccer ball, as devoted coaches Freddy Vorster, Ezra Mallon and Duwayne Kay, pose challenges tough enough to aid them in growing their competence in the sport.

From fitness, ball skills and agility, to actual game practice, the boys covered it all. The community should look forward to the sports grounds of the area abuzz with the budding talent the youngsters, from this football club and others of the area, possess.
