Southern KZN boardriders feel the stoke as SA champs approach

SKZNBA wished all teams the best of luck.

WAXED-UP and ready to go, the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Bodyboarding Association (previously Ugu BA) are ready to showcase their skills in Port Alfred this weekend from Thursday, 18 April until Tuesday, 23 April as riders compete in the South African Bodyboarding Championships.

The national event will see all the hard work invested over the months pay off.

“Our riders have been working so hard in preparation for SA champs,” said team liaison, Samantha Peace. “Team training sessions have been taking place weekly at various beaches including Warner Beach and Treasure Beach.

The riders continue to train throughout the week on their own, after being guided by the team captains over the weekend at their local beaches.”

Peace explained that the team spirit is at an all time high, as everyone has joined forces to raise funds, find sponsors and gather donations through various initiatives.

“The community has been outstanding and we thank all who have supported us morally and financially,” said Peace.

The team is still holding online auctions in an effort to raise funds. If interested visit https://www.facebook.com/skznbodyboarding/.
