18 injured in Winklespruit collision

A taxi and light motor vehicle collided at the Kingsway and Winifred Drive intersection in Winklespruit this morning.

Eighteen people, including children, were injured this morning when a taxi and light motor vehicle collided at the Kingsway and Winifred Drive intersection in Winklespruit.

ER24 paramedics, along with several other emergency personnel, arrived on the scene at 7.55am and found the taxi parked on the side of the road and the light motor vehicle parked on the road.

“The patients were assessed and found to have sustained only minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found. The patients were treated and thereafter transported to hospitals,” said ER24’s Russel Meiring.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
