Welfare empowers youth with entrepreneurial skills

Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare says it is committed to providing skills development and psychosomatic support to community members.

Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare hosted another successful AECI-funded community development initiative at the St Mary’s Church training facility on Thursday, 28 March.

The youth mentorship workshop on business and entrepreneurial skills equipped 20 young people in aspects which included: Investing in yourself as a brand; business models; determining business feasibility; developing a business plan; and financial planning. The training was provided by Shanaaz Arendse of Pathway Business Solutions.

“As an organisation we are committed to providing skills development and psychosomatic support to our community members, and workshops like this can provide the support to young individuals to build their confidence in themselves to change their lives,” said Kingsburgh Welfare chairman, Rev Andrew Manning.
