Man robs Beach Road restaurant, sells stolen liquor

The man confessed to selling all the stolen liquor to someone in KwaMakhutha who was hosting a party.

Amanzimtoti’s ‘sheriff’ George Snodey once again apprehended a robber two weeks after he broke into a Beach Road restaurant.

“The owner of the pub gave me clear full-colour CCTV footage of the suspect breaking in,” said the CCPO committee member, who shared the information among his various informers. However, despite searching all the local spots over the last two weeks, the suspect still could not be traced.

On Tuesday morning, 26 March Snodey and one of his informers continued the search, to no avail, until they hit Toti Mall. “I dropped my informer off and asked him to go take a look. Within five minutes he returned to say the guy was in the mall and what he was wearing.”

Snodey apprehended the suspect and he admitted he was guilty when he saw the CCTV footage and confessed he had sold all the stolen liquor to someone in KwaMakhutha who was hosting a party.
