Various law enforcement groups banded together to embark on a search and crime prevention drive in Amanzimtoti on Tuesday evening, 19 March. A squad of about 80 people that included SAPS, Metro Police, municipal law enforcement, the CCPO, ET Rapid Response, sector 1 and 2 crime forums and the CPF joined ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge and various neighbourhood watch members to be part of the drive from Athlone Park to Winklespruit from about 7.30pm to 3am.

“The threat of crime effects all, and it is only through a collective public and private partnership that we will be able to fight back to ensure a safe and liveable environment for ourselves and our children,” said Cllr Beetge. “Thank you to everyone who was involved in the planning, authorisation and eventual execution of a successful operation.”
