Emergency responders pulled the body of a man from the Karridene River on Saturday afternoon, 16 March at about 5pm.
Authorities were notified of the floating body before Metro Police search and rescue, SAPS search and rescue as well as Umkomaas SAPS responded to the scene, situated just below the R102 bridge over the Karridene River. SAPS search and rescue divers pulled the lifeless body from the river.
An inquest docket has been opened for investigation.
