The event saw DSW, Kingsway High pupils, Jazmax Real Estate Agency, Winklespruit Lifesaving Crew, Sapphire Coast Tourism and members of the public come on board to rid the beach of litter.

CLEAN Surf Project tackled the Winklespruit-Illovo stretch of beach in its most recent clean-up on Saturday, 23 February and cleared 27 bags of litter.

The event saw DSW, Kingsway High pupils, Jazmax Real Estate Agency, Winklespruit Lifesaving Crew, Sapphire Coast Tourism and members of the public come on board to rid the beach of litter.

“Many hands made light work at this clean-up. A big thank you to those who joined the clean-up, especially Nomalanga Gumede and her colleagues from DSW for sponsoring bags, gloves and who even joined the clean-up crew by picking up litter along the beach stretch from Winklespruit Lagoon, Winkle Rocks, Hotel Rocks to Illovo Beach,” explained Sapphire Coast Tourism chairman, Romy Wenzel.

The next beach clean-up takes place this Saturday, 16 March at Umbogintwini Beach, in front of Amanzimtoti Golf Course from 8am to 10am. This area desperately needs attention. Email Clean Surf Project on cleansurfproject@gmail.com or call 082-802-3353.
