Mic Check talent search kicks off at Umgababa

Take your talent, your mic skills and your poetic rhymes to the stage at this talent search.

ARTISTS are urged to take part in the South Coast Mic Check 1.2, a talent search event organised by Nguwe Wedwa Youth Development Organisation which takes place on Saturday, 16 March at Umgababa’s Thusong Centre from 8am.

Take your talent, your mic skills and your poetic rhymes to the stage at this talent search.

Those possessing talent in poetry, hip-hop, maskandi, kwaito contemporary and hip-hop dance are urged to enter and showcase their skills. The competition takes place from 8am until 3pm at the Thusong Centre, with an one-hour registration between 8am and 9am. A short briefing will follow registration. Final showcasing will be announced of acts going forward to the final and this will be shared with the public thereafter.

CEO of Nguwe Wedwa Youth Development Organisation, Mbonseleni Mzimela was a kwaito musician who hails from Inkwali.

“We’re putting this event together in collaboration with event management company, Tzozo Projects and the help of the municipality, and aim to uplift the youth,” he said.
