Donors throw their sup’paw’t behind Christmas dinner fund

Thanks to the generosity of the donors, an incredible R32,315 was raised from November.

Amanzimtoti SPCA and co-ordinator Marlene Prinsloo has thanked the generous donors who have contributed to this year’s Animal Christmas Dinner Fund.

Last week’s donations included R50 from Mike Matthews ‘best wishes to all the pets and pet lovers in Toti’, R765 from Rythmic Arts Academy ‘wishing all pets and owners a safe and happy festive season. May beds be warm, bowls full and smiles wide’, R100 from Jil Dixon ‘merry Christmas and hoping all our furry friends find a loving home this festive season’, R300 from Rob Southey, R500 from Lennox and Michelle ‘Dedicated to Tsunami and Benson’, R200 from Jasmine Acker-Looper ‘always be courageous and kind’, and R300 from Louise Cole Parker ‘with love’.

Thanks to all the donors, an incredible R32,315 was raised from November. This surpassed last year’s amount of R30,050, however the record still stands at R35,969 from 2016.

The fund’s contributions have gone towards feeding the many homeless, abandoned and destitute animals that were housed by the SPCA over the festive season.

“We had one of the busiest festive seasons to date. With the pressure of having to feed all the animals in our care, I thank everyone for generously donating to our annual Christmas doggie dinner fund,” said Amanzimtoti SPCA manager, Tracey Girling.

“We surpassed last year’s figure, which is really great as a lot of us are feeling the economic pinch. I also thank all our supporters for the lovely donations we received over the festive season, we are very fortunate to have a caring community looking after our SPCA. I wish you all the very best for 2019.”
