Marilyn Bradshaw will be missed

The wife, sister, mother, granny, aunt and friend will be missed by all those who cherished her existence.

MARILYN Gale Bradshaw (65) died on 27 November, after battling a rare and untreatable form of leukemia.

The wife, sister, mother, granny, aunt and friend will be missed by all those who cherished her existence.

Born in 1953 in Oudtshoorn in the Cape, Marilyn moved to Warner Beach some 40 years ago. She leaves behind her husband Robin Bradshaw, sons Warren, Merlin and Kelvin, two daughters-in-law, a brother-in-law, five grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, two sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and cherished friends.

“Marilyn, known by most as Mal, was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and mentor,” said daughter-in-law, Natasha Bradshaw. “There was always endless love and compassion radiating from her. She was always a very positive, easy going person, playful and loving and could be headstrong at times. Brave and inspiring, anyone who met her was affected by her contagious laugh, loving nature and her quirky comments.”

Natasha explained that Marilyn put on a heck of a fight through the rare illness she had been diagnosed with. She is now pain free and reunited with her parents.

Mal loved gardening and taking walks on the beach in the early mornings and afternoons, watching her husband, children and grandchildren fish.

“She was an extraordinary cook, her love was in each meal. She always took time to build her recipe file to share with her family, however, you would have to watch her while in the kitchen as she would leave certain ingredients or spices off the recipes. This was her secret ingredient and if you didn’t ask you wouldn’t know,” said Natasha.

Marilyn worked at AECI, where everyone enjoyed her enthusiasm. An extremely helpful, dedicated and hardworking woman, she scorned swearing, while she took minutes for the various meetings she attended.

Natasha shared a memorable occasion. When at an AECI golf day, Mal removed a golf ball from the course and stood quietly giggling while all the golfers frantically searched for the ball, which was still in play.

“In our hearts you will always be. Your love, voice and smile are forever imprinted in our minds, always loved, always missed,” said Natasha.
