Emigrating Ellises will be missed

The Ellis family have formed an integral part of the Amanzimtoti community, and many are heartsore to see them leave.

WARNADOONE Lifesaving Club wishes devoted coach Andrew Ellis and his family all the best as they emigrate to Perth, Australia.

The Ellis family have formed an integral part of the Amanzimtoti community, and many are heartsore to see them leave.

WDSLC explained that both Andrew and his wife Lara grew up in Amanzimtoti. They spent a few years in the UK and have done extensive international travelling over the years.

In addition to being club chairman of WDSLC in both 2017 and 2018, Andrew has also devoted his time to coaching nippers for some three years. The local represented Warnadoone at the World Lifesaving Champs and recently completed his lifesaving award (LA) again. Andrew fills his time with triathlons, scuba diving, canoeing and hiking, all of which he thoroughly enjoys.

“We thank Andrew and his family for their unwavering commitment to our club and especially to our nippers,” expressed Natasha Dawson, on behalf of WDSLC.

“The hard work, support and care Andrew invested in coaching our nippers has not gone unnoticed. While it is with great sadness that we say goodbye, we can only imagine how excited they are for the new adventures that await them in Australia. We wish Andrew, Lara, Caide and Rylee all the best for their new life in Perth.”
