Lend a hand for final 2018 Warner Beach street clean-up

Clean Surf Project holds its last ‘Beat the Street’ clean-up for the year, this Saturday from the subway in Warner Beach, from 9am until 11am.

CLEAN Surf Project holds its last ‘Beat the Street’ clean-up for the year, this Saturday from the subway in Warner Beach, from 9am until 11am.

This clean-up will tackle the Kingsway strip and area along the Warner Beach railway line.

Reflecting on its last beach clean-up of the year, CSP deemed the event that took place on Saturday, 17 November from the Amanzimtoti Lagoon as successful.

“Despite the wind blowing the clean-up crew almost off the beach, a total of 28 bags were collected,” explained Sapphire Coast Tourism’s Romy Wenzel.

“It was great to see new faces joining the clean-up campaign, including Simphiwe Shozi from Adams Mission, the Funland crew and KZN Top Model SA finalists.”

Romy explained that, sadly, there is still plenty more work to do, as loads of litter has been buried underneath the thick bushes all along the lagoon.

She urged all residents and business owners to become active community members, roll up their sleeves and take part in the Beat the Street clean-up this Saturday.

Those taking part should take their own gloves and refreshments. CSP will supply bags to all participants.
